Dear Ascension family, We continue to make our way through Epihanytide this Sunday. While I will be preaching the first installment of a four-part series on biblical justice, I would like you to notice the gospel readings during this time. Epiphany and the Sundays following (called Epiphanytide) are a time of revelation, where Jesus’ identity and mission are made manifest. the gospel readings for these Sundays highlight an aspect of this unveiling. First Sunday after Epiphany Second Sunday after Epiphany Third Sunday after Epiphany Fourth Sunday after Epiphany Through each of these readings, and the ones to come in the following Sundays, Epiphany continues to unveil the identity of Jesus and the nature of His kingdom. As we continue through Epiphanytide, may we open our hearts to the revelation of Christ, recognizing His glory, embracing His kingdom, and living as faithful witnesses to His light. See you on the Lord's day. Fr. Ken |
